I had nearly forgotten about this little gem until dear Mr Big thought he'd remind me by sharing the story with my Mum - much to her merriment!
It all started off so well. Mummy & Daddy and Baby A all sharing a nice morning cuddle up together. Every day we ask Baby A our names and she says in the cutest possible way 'Daddy' and 'Mummy' and sometimes she even names us the right way round!
Baby A has also been amazing us lately with her ability to learn and remember different names for other things. From apple, and banana, to saying please and even knowing where her eyes and ears are and so on.
Well, as we were all sat in bed having our morning cuddle, Mr Big thought he would point out to our darling daughter that Mummy has 'boobies'. Baby A duley pointed and learned quickly where Mummy's boobies were and would point and say 'boobies' several times in a row. Mr Big was I'm sure feeling very pleased with his work as I said on repeat loop, 'yes...that IS Mummy's boobies' (trying to feign some sort of enthusiasm).
Don't get me wrong, I'm sure she needs to know this for the future. I'm just not sure I would have told her right now!
So all was well and good in the Wondermum household until Baby A decided she was clearly an expert on 'boobies' as she had successfully identified them a number of times now.
So then she pointed to my face. 'Boobies', she says, pointing to my cheeks specifically.
I thought my Husband was going to have an asthma attack he laughed so much. 'Yes', he said, chuckling away to himself, 'Mummy has boobies for her FACE'.
Ah. Sometimes my family say the sweetest things.
